Un acupuntor alemán ha tratad con éxito el dolor de cabeza de un paciente que sufría de Cefalea en Racimos o Cefalea de Horton. Este paciente tomaba quince pastillas diariamente ara aliviar su dolor y había sido tratado por varios neurólogos durante casi doce años, pero aun así el dolor intenso en su cabeza no desaparecía.
El paciente sufría tanto que había decidido suicidarse con tal de no seguir sufriendo, de hecho este tipo de dolor se describe como uno de los mas fuertes que puede sentir un ser humano y de ahí le viene el nombre de “dolor de cabeza suicida”.
Mohamed Ibrahim Kamel había sufrido este dolor de cabeza durante los últimos 12 años y ya no vea solución, porque los ataques cada vez eran mas fuertes y se sucedían hasta en 7 ocasiones al día. Por suerte decidió probar las terapias de acupuntura y cuenta que desde la primera sesión empezó a notar mejora, después de mes y medio de tratamiento con dos sesiones semanales por fin dejo de sentir dolor.

La escasez de medicamentos que sufren muchos hospitales de iraquíes está haciendo que los médicos traten a sus pacientes con acupuntura, mediante estas antiguas técnicas ya se había conseguido tratar a 200 pacientes en un hospital de Bagdad, por lo que los médicos creen que esta antigua técnica china también puede usarse en hospitales más modernos y equipados.
La idea de los médicos al utilizar la acupuntura era reducir o reemplazar las cantidades de la escasa oxitocina que les quedaba, un medicamento utilizado en casos de parto con cesárea que ayuda a reducir los riesgos por hemorragia después del parto. Este tratamiento mediante técnicas de acupuntura resulto de gran utilidad y el 45% de las mujeres tratadas no necesitaron tomar el medicamento, mientras que un 30% solo necesito 2 dosis.
Para este tratamiento se insertaron seis agujas en distintos puntos de la acupuntura, como los dedos de los pies y los tobillos. Los puntos estimulados estaban relacionados con el prolapso del útero, el útero, la dificultad del parto, las contracciones uterinas y la retención de la placenta.
