Nunca dejan de sorprendernos con problemas en los que la acupuntura puede ofrecernos una solución, esta vez mediante la acupuntura se ha conseguido reducir la ansiedad de aquellas personas que sufren realmente problemas serios de nervios cuando piensan que tienen que ir al dentista.
Después de someter a una sesión de acupuntura ( estimulando los puntos GV20 and EX6), a un grupo de personas que sentían ansiedad ante la idea de visitar al dentista, se consiguió que todos los pacientes acudieran a su cita con el dentista. Antes de someterse a acupuntura tan solo seis de ellos fueron capaces de acudir al dentista después de un gran esfuerzo.
Aunque el estudio fue muy positivo para todas estas personas que ya lo habían intentado con otros métodos, es necesario hacer estudios más amplios que verifiquen los resultados con un mayor número de personas.

El jugador Rudy Fernández, de los Blazers. Se ha sometiendo a un tratamiento de acupuntura para recuperarse de sus problemas de espalda, que le han impedido jugar con su equipo los dos últimos partidos de pretemporada.
Al jugador le pusieron las agujas de acupuntura en la espalda, piernas, orejas, tobillos y manos. Aunque es la primera vez que Rudy se somete a la técnica de acupuntura, reconoció que ya se sentía bien pero prefería reservarse para la temporada regular.
El escolta de los Blazers no ha podido jugar todos los minutos que le hubiesen gustado, pero espera recuperarse pronto gracias a la acupuntura y seguir dándolo todo en la cancha de baloncesto.
